When you date someone from a city much cooler than the one you reside in, presumeably for vacation rights.

Jenny's boyfriend lives in NYC, but they're not serious, it's more of a vacationship.

Vacationship

When one or both parties of a relationship break up to partake in a fling which ends with the two aforementioned parties reentering their previous relationship.

John: "You're dating Kara now? Weren't you dating Ashley for 3 years?"
Steve: "We needed a break. This is just a vacationship"
