Tonitry

Tonitry (noun)
When someone shuts down an argument by nitpicking how you say it instead of what you’re actually saying. Basically, they can’t handle the truth, so they call you “too emotional” or “aggressive” to avoid addressing the real issue.
Ava: "This project is a mess because you didn’t communicate!"
Jake: "Whoa, calm down. No need to get emotional."
Ava: "Classic tonitry. Answer the damn question, Jake."
