technocrati

The elite or dominant portion of a clearly defined field of technology. Can refer to a group or a single member of said group.

To be a member of the technocrati, there should be absolutely no question as to ones competence or ones right to be considered expert in the field.

No other knowledge is necessary. Only the technical.
He was hesitant to post his true opinion because he knew it would be quickly attacked by the technocrati.

She read the submitted paper and knew it was flawed but, because it had the support of the technocrati, it was accepted without debate by the full membership.

technocrasshole

The word « technocrasshole » is a slang corporate word to define a growing type of workers in corporation and professional settings. These workers hide their incompetency behind laws, processes, financial reports and the like. Since technocratic tools and expert jargon are on their side they believe that they possess the truth and that the rest of the universe is composed by unknowledgeable people. Technocrasshole cannot demonstrate any type of creativity, create “red tape” where none is required and enjoy creating “work-generating” useless processes. While in fact they are the direct antithesis of efficiency, their arrogance pushes them to try to expand their technocratic view throughout the organization causing irreparable harm to it. As a result, technocrasshole’s speeches successfully allure the other technocrats, the incompetents and “Wally” of the office. This is what makes them more dangerous than the typical low-profile technocrat. The net result of the technocrasshole’s influence is a deterioration of the level of efficacy within an organization.
Unfortunately for the corporate world, incompetent Lawyers, Accountants, Quality Assurance experts and Consultants often become Technocrasshole.

Technocracy

Technocracy, the politico-economic movement, advocates the optimization of the welfare of human beings, by means of scientific analyses and engineered action. It does not limit itself to established economic, political and administrative forms, but considers those as human artifacts subject to optimization. As a result, the group's reforms seem quite radical to many people.

Technocracy advocates an economic system in which production is run at full capacity at all times, and purchasing power equal to the productive capacity is evenly distributed to all. The organization claims that this will guarantee both well-being and security for all.
A government or social system controlled by technicians, especially scientists and technical experts.

Technocracy

A form of government where those who are skilled rule.

“Those who are skilled” is often taken to mean scientist and engineers; however, that is not necessarily the case. A technocracy is a hypothetical system of governance where those who are skilled in a particular area make the decisions for that area, so a person who is skilled in the area of health would manage the heath system and someone skilled in defence would make the decisions for the defence of a state rather than having elected representatives make the decisions.

Technocracy can also be seen as a plan for society where the technical aspects of society are run by those who are skilled in those areas. The plan would see the replacement of capitalism, money and the free market with a more rational means of allocating and managing the resources of society to maintain a high standard of living for the longest time possible.
There are no examples of a technocracy.
