a portmanteau (combination of words), tattlas is what you get from tattoo and atlas so a tattlas is a book of tattoo maps or a tattoo artist index or local tattoo shop directory.

The term was coined in 2017 as a brand name "Tattlas Bali Tattoo Guide" for a niche travel website.

Getting a tattoo in Bali? From who? Better look them up in the tattlas first to be sure! I learned all about Balinese designs and picked my artist on tattlas.
