sidejoke 

When telling a story that is funny, like a side note, you jump to another joke, either germane or not to the story. Can be narrated, an inside joke, or the way people who ADHD talk when explaining themselves or situations.

Similar to the joke telling that Ron Howard would use in Arrested Development.

I was telling Bob a story and then I told a sidejoke about the night and got a bonus laugh.

I am tried of always getting distracted with all the sidejokes when telling someone about last night.
