retrostall

The process of installing an older operating system on a computer already running a newer one. Usually done to a designated computer for the purposes of running otherwise defunct software.
I retrostalled my mom's computer so we can play King's Quest!
We'll need to retrostall back to OS9 to get your typing program to work.
Designate a computer for retrostalling because it will likely wipe your hard drive.
