French for 'story teller,' coming from the French verb 'raconter' meaning 'to tell' or 'to recount.' Also, for this reason, the name of a new rock band, the Raconteurs. (They're really good.)

The Raconteurs claim to be raconteurs on their new album, 'Broken Boy Soldiers.'
