Pair gaming, similar to pair programming, is a development technique in which two gamers work together at one station. One, the gamer, plays while the other, the observer or navigator, reviews the players moves, provides tips or googles tips for support.

While reviewing, the observer also considers the "strategic" direction of the gamer, coming up with ideas for improvements and likely future problems to address. This is intended to free the gamer to focus all of their attention on the "tactical" aspects of completing the current task, using the observer as a guide.
"Want to do a pair gaming session on <game title> tonight?"
