Pronounced PAHT-na. Caribbean (Trinidadian) dialect for 'partner'. Can be meant in as a term of comeraderie, or it can be an aggessive, acromonious, and sarcastic term signaling a conflicting view of the other person, depending on the context (like 'buddy', 'pal', etc.).
