nerdogance

not to be confused with "nerdigence", nerdogance is the certain brand of arrogance that applies to nerds who have a misplaced arrogance due to their assumed knowledge in an esoteric nerdy subject. Nerdogance manifests itself when the nerd in question feels insecure in social situations and uses their knowledge in sci fi, computers, etc. to act superior over others, in turn making more people dislike them, while proving the social stereotype of nerds as socially inept losers.
"I thought it sounded fun when he asked me out to see the Star Trek movie, but his nerdogance was so appalling. I had to decline."

Examples of nerdogance: Mystery, author of "The Game", any web developer, script kiddies, Dustin Diamond
