healing pad
A place where old used, worn out parts are placed for degreasing or left for temporary/long term storage. Over time, the parts become good enough to use again when new parts are not available from a supplier or warehouse.
Jim Bob, "Oh crap! The whole plant is down and we don't have the replacement bearing ZXC4567 in the warehouse and the bearing supplier says that it will take 4 weeks to get one made and delivered to site!"
