A guy that a friend is dating and talks a lot about but you've never met, with the implication that he's not real.

It's a super common phenomenon among gay men, especially when guys are dating someone who is not fully out. However, it's not unheard of among straight women.

In some instances, the situation revolves around the ghost party considering the relationship to be a booty call situation, while the other mistakes this as real romantic interest with a possibility of depth.

"I heard that Bill is bringing Gerald around today."
"Gerald's real? I thought he was just a ghost boyfriend!"

1. when you must supply a male member with clean clothing the day after a sleepover, and you have to dress him in multiple ex-boyfriends clothing and then hang out while he wears them. Generally, the articles of clothing may include a cleavage showing v-neck t shirt.

I totally hung out with the ghost of ex-boyfriends past today, and I cant believe I used to date a dude who wore v-necks AND one who wore MC Hammer pants. Makes so much more sense now why these dudes are my ex's.
