garagetronica

A kind of non-slick rockish pop music with an electronic undercurrent and ambiance, recorded under less than fully "pro" conditions but not too cruddy, with vocals that aren't trying to make you think "oh what a great singer," but you think it anyway. Can show influences of all styles from all eras, where rock guitars, sitars, synth bleeps, fake strings, and hip-hop beats make nice like they were meant to. Typically produced on computers in spare rooms and bedrooms.
"Hey, what were those frequencies I heard leaking out of your buds?"
"Garagetronica. What some?"
"Yeah, where do I get it?"
"In your head - you get it in your head."
"Then what?"
"Everything. Just about everything."
