n. the moment a conversation becomes real and alive, which occurs when a spark of trust shorts out the delicate circuits you keep insulated under layers of irony, momentarily grounding the static emotional charge you’ve built up through decades of friction with the world.
Person one: I noticed you struck up quite an animated conversation with Bon Jovi last night!

Person two: Yes, it was a genuine flashover!

twelve o'clock flasher

A person with no idea how to use any kind of technology. The joke is, all digital clocks, stereos, DVD players, VCRs and so on have their displays flashing 0:00 or 12:00 (twelve o'clock) because the person in question has no idea how to set the time, let alone use any other function offered.
{When standing behind someone at an ATM for a very long time} - What is taking him so long? He must be a twelve o'clock flasher..

I knew i was dealing with a twelve o'clock flasher when she put the CD in data side up.

Can you believe it?! He was trying to use his DVD-ROM to read a floppy! Bloody twelve o'clock flashers!

12:00 Flasher

Someone so stupid when it comes to technology that they can't program any appliance in their house, thus they are always flashing "12:00."
"There is no way to get a 12:00 Flasher on the Internet! I've seen guys eat their own headsets trying!" - Wes from Three Dead Trolls In A Baggie, "Welcome to the Internet Help Desk"

1. A person, usually a man, who takes pleasure in exhibiting his private parts to random people in public. A cliché flasher wears a dust-coat, flabs of which he spreads in front of his victim(s).

2. A person who interupts tennis/soccer or any other kind of match by running onto it naked. Flashers do it usually without a particular reason, for the sake of doing this.
Ad.1 While I was going to meet you I came across a flasher, lurking in shrubs. He had nothing to be proud of!

Ad.2 Kournikova was to serve when a flasher burst in and ran with his fingers V-shaped.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
