The famous Greek mathematician that invented the rule for dividing fractions, and the inverse function. Long overshadowed by more famous mathematicians, like Euclid and Pythagoras.
While trying to teach a student to divide fractions, Pythagoras could not do it. He yelled to the superior mathematician for help, shouting "Euphilipides!" The student misunderstood, thinking you flip the order of the second fraction. And thus, Euphilipides was lost to history.
