A word that elicits the same emotional feeling as another. As such, it is subjective. A dictionary of emonyms is called an emotional thesaurus.

A word that is offered in response to the question, "What's the first word that comes to mind when you hear 'x'?" The word offered is the responder's emonym for "x".

Origin: 2012-2013; blend of emotional and synonym.

Because of their political affiliations, John and Jane have different emonyms for "Obama". John's emonym is "hero" and Jane's is "loser."

Emony

a great person with a sarcastic and sometimes obnoxious sense of humor. can be really chill or really dramatic depending on the moment. usually active in some form of art: performing, writing, etc. big on academics. usually an overachiever in school. can be a loner and just do stuff on their own. other times a huge social butterfly hitting every social event possible. loyal and treasures close friendships. usually busy, works alot, no time to rest. definition of an energizer bunny. does deal with drama or bullshit. comedic relief.

definitely had an Emony moment.

Emony

A beautiful girl with big brown nice eyes. Has a nice body but never notices it. She is a socal butterfly most times but other times is very quiet and shy. Has a funny yet obnoxious sense of humor. Every boy likes her but she's not interested in them. She's very different from most girls. She's very sensitive most times and never forgets nothing that happens. And takes most things to the heart. Its very easy to get her mad or upset. If you loose her your never getting her back. She's a very goofy type of person and you would always want to be around her.

Hip-eponymous

Cool People, or Hipsters, who belong to an Eponymous Society, where all members have the same name. Hip-eponymous is the next logical step to Googling your own name. You find and friend everyone with your name, and start a group, such as the "Your Name" Society.

I have my own Hip-eponymous group on FaceBook, everyone has the same name as me. ^_^
