in spite of everything; without regard to drawbacks....Having no regard; heedless; careless; as, regardless of life, consequences, dignity.....Not regarded; slighted.....Means the same as regardless, just an appropriate way of saying irregardless (as commonly spelled) without actually contradicting the word regardless, as adding the prefix "ir" would.
