Dutch slang for skipping a boring mandatory exposition of a given subject delivered before an audience or a class.

The history of the slang damveldje is debatable. The most accepted explanation of the word is about a student; 'Damveld' was a student at a prestigious university who was notorious for skipping nearly everything, save for the tests.

Because of this slang students tend to name fellow classmates, those that skip a lot of boring lectures, "damveld"
Student 1: This lecture is extremely boring.
Student 2: Mate, you should've pulled a damveldje.
