In biology, a Cryophile is an organism that is able to survive and thrive in areas that have very low temperatures. (Cryo- is a word part meaning cold, while -phile is a word part meaning likes/favors.)

It may also simply refer to a person who just really likes the cold. This trait is common among Canadians, Russians, and people from North Dakota.
