Smoldering, intellectual, politically active, incredibly beautiful British actor who defined the character of Mr. Darcy for a generation of admiring females. (I think that "smoldering" is an adjective used far too infrequently since the advent of gas barbecues. We have Colin to thank for bringing it back into vogue.)

Possible the greatest current British actor!So v., v. gorgeous! Also quite talented-he has done many more fabulous movies besides Bridget Jones'I & II (although those are great, too!)I really don't see how there is ANY competition between him and Hugh Grant (please....).I quite agree with the previous definition..he is not old! Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
