Someone in a coffee club who drinks coffee when it suits them but only drinks tea when he or she doesn't want to make coffee for the rest of the group.

Emma was a fairweather coffee friend because she was unwilling to be a permanent member of the office coffee club but didn't hesitate to drink coffee from time to time.
