Chavitude

Chavitude is the attitude commenly held by chavs. This is most commonly a violent, rude, unruly, uncouth and all round unpleasent attitude. Not all chavs have chavitude, some are vaguely safe. Also, non-chavs can have chavitude.

coditude

When you consume a scarce global resource (possibly on the brink of extinction) because if you don't, someone else will anyway and why should you miss out. Originally started in respect of the cod, but applies to any animal, mineral or energy resource.

I told Phil that sea bass was an endangered species, but when were at the fishmonger he showed complete coditude because he bought it anyway, he said that if he hadn't eaten it someone else would and why should he make that sacrifice

Coolitude

Coined by Franco-Mauritian poet and semiologist Khal Torabully in the 90's, coolitude blends two meanings, widely circulated nowadays :
- the attitude of being relaxed, cool, non-violent, springing from the ahimsa of Gandhi, to promote understanding between human groups, cultures, arts...
- a poetics or vision of the world, to celebrate the coolie or indentured in History, whose memory was in limbo, as he/she was the one who was neglected in History and Literature. In coolitude, the word coolie was reappraised, in a view of giving a voice to the downcast, and develop a dialogue between descendants of slaves and coolies, and to promote cultural interaction and understanding, in a wider sense, in a globalized world.

CANDITUDE

CANDITUDE IS A TERM USED TO DEFINE AN ATTITUDE IN LIFE THAT REFLECTS AN "I CAN DO IT" SPIRIT. AN APPROACH TO LIFE THAT SAYS I AM UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF ACTIVITIES , I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD DO BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE ALWAYS HAD DONE THEM FOR ME.

MY COUSIN'S WIFE RECENTLY LOST HIM TO CANCER, AND IN THE PAST YEAR HAS REFUSED TO NOT GIVE IN TO THE DESIRE TO HAVE OTHERS HELP WITH ROUTINE CHORES THAT MY COUSIN PERFORMED ON A DAILY BASIS. HER ATTITUDE, IS "I CAN DO THIS" AND SHE SAYS SO QUITE VOCALLY. MY WIFE HAS ALSO TAKEN ON A SIMILAR ATTITUDE TO TAKE ON MORE OF MY DAILY CHORES AND SHE ALSO HAS THE "CANDITUDE'

Chaditude

When someone who usually thinks they are better than everybody anyway, completely flies off the handle at the smallest change or problem - usually something minor that most people wouldn't even care about.

"What's going on?"

"Oh the usual Chaditude stuff"

"Shit. What is it this time?"

"Some idiot from the crew came up onstage to get his beer while we were playing, I guess. I didn't see him."

"Yeah, I saw that guy. He's having a total Chaditude about it, isn't he?"

"Totally. Shhhh... listen. You can hear him screaming at somebody... and this is a brick wall!"

"Too bad. I kind of liked this club."

"Yup. Me too."

"Well, maybe it won't get that bad?"

(brief pause.)
(Laughter)
