cheese slicer
A tool with primary purpose to cut semi-hard and hard cheeses to produce thin slices. The cheese slicer can also be used for slicing cucumbers, peeling potatoes and other food.
A cheese slicer is an invention from the 20th century by a Norwegian carpenter. The original name is"Ostehøvel". Today it is widely used in the Nordic countries.

The term stems from a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, 04.22 "Restless." The term can also be applied to any of the following:

Infinitely better than sliced bread.
"People use the expression, “That’s the greatest invention since sliced bread!” all the time-but what about sliced cheese? Cheese is much harder to slice evenly than bread. To my way of thinking, the invention of sliced cheese is much more impressive than the invention of sliced bread. Plus, sliced cheese is wrapped in a convenient plastic covering while sliced bread is lazily jammed next to other pieces of bread. But I’m probably in the minority here…"

Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texas will vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.
