1. The act of interrupting or hijacking someone for a lengthy discussion while they are in the act of leaving (i.e. saying their good-byes).
2. Being given an assignment or responsibility while in the act of leaving.
"I'm sorry I'm late, I was almost out the door and then my boss byejacked me to talk about cover sheets for the TPS report."
"Mom totally byejacked me and made me take out the trash before I could go."
