A reaction to a boycott, whereby some people buy goods or services from a firm which is being boycotted by other people.

It is not clear how deeply the boycott has cut into Goya’s bottom line, or whether the impact of the “buycott” has canceled it out.

To purchase goods and services from an organization you support, particularly when that organization is experiencing a boycott by groups you oppose. It is the positive opposite of a boycott.

The company supported political views I oppose, so I'm starting a buycott for their competitor.

1. An agreement usually among a particular segment of the population to reduce or stop the use and purchase of certain products or activities.

2. An unfair trade practice which occurs when someone in the insurance business refuses to have business dealings with another until he or she complies with certain conditions or concessions.

The fish n chip shop refused to decrease the price of fish so the customers boycotted them.
