badventist

a Seventh Day Adventist who "breaks the rules" of his/her religion by going out or doing things on Friday nights and Saturday before sunset, eating pork and other restricted foods, or just doesn't regularly practice other aspects of the religion.

Basically a combination of the words "bad" and "adventist."
Girl 1: Did you hear about Zachary going to that party on Friday night?

Girl 2: Yeah! He's such a badventist!

sadventist

A member of the Seventh-day Adventist church whose religious views are based on the Old Testament and the writings of Ellen G. White (founder of the SDA church.) As a result, they are miserable people who make everyone else around them miserable too. These miserable souls are likely to be pro-Life and for Capital punishment, extreme gossips and backbiters, and depressed loners with few friends, lovers of money, greedy, and quietly ostentatious. They find fault with everything from contemporary fashion, music, and art to movies, sports, dancing, and people. Their Sabbath-observance is very strict and ceremonial, devoid of joy and real worship, and focused on what one CAN'T do during the time between Friday sundown through Saturday sundown. Children of "sadventist" parents are to be pitied above all because not only are they denied the joys of normal childhood but have to go through their adult life with a broken image of the character of Christ, an image which might never be rectified enough in their minds. As a result, these children either become atheists or worse, they become a version of their "sadventist" parents to propagate even more misery into the world.
Fred: Yo, Pete. Is Carl meeting us at the movies tonight?
Pete: Nah. His mom grounded him.
Fred: How comes?
Pete: Cuz she's a sadventist who doesn't believe in going to the movies.

Adventist

Christians who believe that the return of Christ as promised in the New Testament (John 14:1-3, Matthew 24-25) is the next major event in the history of salvation. Although most Christian tradition includes this aspect, the Adventist faith is particularly related to the movement started by Baptist evangelist William Miller in the 1830s in the United States. It continues today in several denominations, but most prominently the Seventh-day Adventist Church with some 25 million adherents worldwide in 2005.

Seventh Day Adventist

Christian group integrating intellectual experience in addition to the emotional experience sought after by other denominations. Observing old beliefs of protestant denominations. Valuing beliefs of early Christianity. Fastest growing religion in the US, and longest living people. Exists in the most countries.
Still observe the Saturday Sabbath, they visit friends/family, worship God, relax and refrain from buying; believing that Sabbath buying (making someone else work) takes away someone else's opportunity to relax. They will do work contributing/helping society: soup kitchens, work as doctors, nurses and police
Has no true governing body like other churches, believing God is the head, changes come about as a result of the actions of church as a whole.
Ellen White is a founder and one of history’s most published authors, translated into 150+ languages across the world. Some see her as a prophet; she states “I said that I did not claim to be a prophetess. I have not stood before the people claiming this title, though many called me thus… I am God's messenger, sent to bear a message of reproof to the erring and of encouragement to the meek and lowly.” Messiah, steps to Christ, the great controversy are popular. The writings often covered health/lifestyle, Leading Adventism to refine health care, opening sanitariums across the world, creating places of health, instead of death including Loma Linda Medical center, which started the human heart transplant program
Mark: hey what is that in your plate?

seventh day adventist

A Protestant Christian denomination whose followers, upon Bible proof, observe Saturday (the seventh day) as the day of worship. Adventists worship from Friday's sunset to Saturday's sunset - a period of time called "the Sabbath day."

Followers of this belief...

- are generally against abortion.
- refrain from eating pork, shellfish, and other animals that the Bible tells are "unclean"; many people of this faith are vegetarians.
- are against gay marriage.
- are opposed to any piercings and tatoos.
- dress modestly and without adornments (i.e. jewelry, make up, extravagant hairstyles).
Being a Seventh day Adventist is really awesome - it fulfills my spiritual needs more than any other religion could.
