Yateley is know for having a large colection for chavs. The male chavs are known as the "Y Boyz" and the females are the "Y Girls". The main tourist attractions are KFC and the Waitrose car park.

Yakeley Laundry Thief 

A girl who terrorized Yakeley (and Gilchrist) laundry rooms during the 2024-2025 school year by stealing name-brand clothing and selling it on depop and to plato’s closet. This event caused widespread panic (and entertainment) making people wonder if they’ve fallen victim to this horrible crime.
