Time jump 

A period of time during with an event is not seen but is mentioned or referred to. This have contantly on Soap operas espcially when they are trying to create the illusion of Movement.

On ALL MY CHILDREN, Kendall and Palmer are sitting in a restuarant and she is telling him who she will get Greenlee out of Cambias. THe show goes to commercial and when the scene comes back, she has told him and he is giving his comments. Thats a Time Jump.

The more colloquial term for time travel used by time travellers.

Not to be confused with 'time skip', a plot device in fictional stories.
Refer to 'time jumpers' or simply 'jumpers' for the similar colloquial term for time travellers.

"Only way we can fix classified is if we time jump."

"We're never jumping at -25 sqwimbles again, I don't know why I listen to your ideas."

The term used colloquially for time travellers. 'Jumper' is used interchangeably.

Used widely among time travellers. Sometimes used as an insult by those who dislike time travellers.

"You're a jumper too?! Finally! I've been meaning to ask someone else to help calibrate my classified".

"Being a time jumper is more than just an action or a habit, it's ingrained in my identity, that's why I never gave it up back then, how can I give it up without giving up who I am?"

"This is my restaurant and I won't serve you, we don't entertain time jumpers here."

"Ahhh a jumper in our town! What ya doing in our run down neck of the woods? Kid, bring me back a souvenir from the Ancient Greece if you ever drop by, they musta had some good drink to be praying to Dionysus!"
