Simply another way of saying the corona virus, because there is a beer called corona
Usually used in dark situations involving COVID to try and lighten the mood

Person 1: man I just got COVID, I'm fucked
Person 2: you mean spooky beer flu?
Person 3: what the hell are you talking about?
