Sniper-check 

The act of saluting an officer in a combat zone. Snipers in every military are trained to take out leadership, as they are "key personnel". Saluting in combat zones, at least when outside the wire, is not allowed. Therefore, saluting an officer in that situation is a dick move.

Soldier: (salutes) Sniper-check, sir!"

The act of a first shot miss in battle or on a FPS game
or
The act of missing to attract the attention of a player or target to get them to move to a better fireing position.

Gamer 1 "Oh man I snipe checked that tank and got owned!"
Gamer 2 "STFU n00b"
Gamer 3 *Has other sniper and head shots gamer 1 and 2*

To salute an officer in a combat zone, so as to designate him a high value sniper target. Especially useful in an area where enemy snipers are known to be operating
