Smothercate is the hypoxic condition resulting from the lack of oxygen through mechanical, compressive or chemical interference with resperation. Smothercate is the consolidation of many words with the same meaning; successfully replacing smother, suffocate or asphyxiate and their variations.

Smothecate 

1. usually used when describing how someone can be smothering and suffocating you at the same time. Used in reference to a significant other, spouse or friend..... being smothered or suffocated with feelings (usually unwanted).

2. the way a person with claustrophobia would feel in a tight spot (smothered and suffocated)
1. Why you always tryin to smothecate me with your "I Love You's" or I feel like I am gonna smothecate in this relationship.

2. I felt like I was about to smothecate in the damn elevator with all those people.

Team Smotherage 

phenomena in TV news when a station has multiple reporters all assigned to the same story and promotes it as "team coverage" when the story really isn't significant enough to merit that much coverage.
"...we have live team coverage of Paris Hilton's wild night on the town..." (team smotherage)

"Gas prices continue to climb...so how are drivers coping? We have live team coverage...reporter Joe Fancy is at a Chevron station, Linda Pretty is right across the street from Joe at an Exxon station with motorists there, and Amanda Perky is across town at another service station. We'll start with Joe..." (team smotherage)

Tease: "Rain in the forecast...we'll have live team coverage of this approaching summer storm."
