A contentious coffee brewing technique in which the plunger is pushed midway down the cafetiere several minutes into brewing. It is then pushed to the bottom within a few minutes to terminate the brewing process, leaving the coffee ready to be poured. The technique is said to produce strong coffee, reducing the bitterness generally attained from an extended brewing process.
