An acronym for the San Francisco Girls Chorus.

For more than 30 years, the San Francisco Girls Chorus has been recognized as one of the world’s most respected vocal ensembles. Its level of training, performance, quality, range, and leadership in commissioning music for treble voices are applauded by musicians, critics, and audiences.

The chorus is based in San Francisco, California. It is comprised of over 250 girls, ages 7-18, who come from all around the bay area to rehearse and perform mainly in San Francisco. The SFGC is a wonderful family of musicians, friends, and supporters. They regularly perform with the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Opera, and often do international and national tours. The SFGC was also featured at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2008.

SFGC as a term is most often used by SFGC choristers or former choristers and sometimes by people familiar with the SFGC, as the entire "San Francisco Girls Chorus" is quite a mouthful.
Non- chorister: So do you do any after-school activities?
Chorister: Yeah, I'm in the SFGC.

Random lady at a concert: Ooohh you girls at the SFGC are always so talented!

Another phrase often uttered by SFGC choristers:

"I can't, I have chorus."
