Frownstorm

An expression of extreme displeasure at a thing or happenstance that is unpleasant but otherwise unavoidable. Kind of like a brainstorm, but with all thoughts inwardly directed at the dislike of the situation. It may manifest itself in a broody attitude, fits of frowning, or other outwards signs of moodiness.

The unpleasant prospect of having to be visited by my relatives sent me into a frownstorm.

Brownstorming

A rapid, unfiltered ideation process akin to "throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks," where many ideas are generated with the expectation that only a few will be viable.

Our brainstorming session went south and turned into full-on brownstorming, with everyone tossing out random ideas just to see if anything would stick.
