Feeling a secondhand embarrassment for someone after they do something outwardly cringe - worthy. Derived from the German term ' Fremdshamen' .

Oh my god, look at him. He's completely bombing this presentation. Now he's freezing up. And his phone just went off. And his ringtone is an anime version of the "Friendship is Magic" opening theme. It's so fremdsy it burns.

Fremdschämen

A German term which describes the process of being vicariously embarrassed by someone else. For example when somebody's concept for a great party gag goes terrible wrong and you watch him fail in the middle of all of his friends.

Tom was completely wasted while he held the speech on Mike's wedding party. Fremdschämen in perfection.
