1. To apply effort into the opposite of the desired outcome.
2. To actively NOT apply oneself.
3. To exist in the opposite of ones potential.

Jared had the potential to do great things, but he spent so much of his life deplying himself that he had to move back in with his parents, and to go back to working at a children's theme park.

Delying is defined as someone being hesitant about being completely honest or not being completely honest, when there's no point in lying.

But through guilt or subconsciously coming to themselves to be forthcoming with the person they were not completely honest with.

Johnny & Mike were having a conversation.

Mike withheld information from Johnny that wasn't necessary for him to do so.
After a week, Mike confessed to Johnny that he wasn't being completely honest.

Mike was delying to Johnny.
