2. a situation in which one must distinguish between superficially similar options

Predictament

1. n. A bad or ill-fated outcome that one predicted would happen in advance.

2. n. An unpleasantly difficult, perplexing, or dangerous situation that a person had the foresight to see in advance, yet for some reason chose to proceed with anyway.

Dammit, I knew I would end up in this predictament.
