NHL team of Raleigh, N.C. Their home arena is RBC center. One of five teams in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. Won divisional regular season title three times (1999, 2002, 2006). Made it to Stanley Cup finals in 2002, losing 4 games to 1 against the Detroit Red Wings. Used to be the Hartford Whalers. Refered to as the "'Canes" for short.
