Boterham is the Dutch word for a slice of bread. The origin of this word can be traced back to the early 1860's. Family Krist decided that only ham was suited to go on their butter. So they created a slice of bread with butter and ham.
Hey Roelof, can you pass me that boterham?
That boterham is delicious.
