When a white person says something about a black person in conversation that isn't PC and realizes it mid-sentence and tries to correct themselves or remedy the situation.

White teacher to black student..."student, I'm doing a research project on gang members, can you bring in pictures from your neighborhood?" Black student starring back perturbed. White teacher, "I mean, not that I think you live in a gang infested area because you are black, just because I thought maybe you'd want to help me out because I'm too scared to go into an area of high crime." Black student, realizing that white teacher is black pedalling, walks away.

Back-peddling pussy 

MMO slang. Typically what the Bow Fag does once they draw the aggro of the mobs. They run around backwards while shooting the mobs which are chasing them. Or course this in turn requires all the melee class to follow in pursuit. So it basically looks similar to a Benny Hill re-run.

The bow fag ranger just grabbed the aggro of all the mobs, so now he's a back-peddling pussy.

Attempting to reverse something said or done in order to agree with something now said or being done by others.

"I think that 'Black Lives Matter' is a rascist group."
"So you're a rascist?!"

Bleackpedaling- (verb) When a white person, whether accidentaly or on purpose, makes a racist comment about a black person and then feverishly tries to retract his/her previous statement(s).

Backpedalling

A technique commonly used in arguments whereupon someone returns to a previous point they had made and pretends what they had said after that point never happened. Used in an attempt to null arguments that have been proven wrong, to prevent humiliation or to prevent the disputer from identifying that they have made a stupid argument. Politicians frequently use this in order to prevent interviewers from getting to the root of the problematic things they say. Really fucking annoying.

"You mean to say that ALL black people are stupid?"

"Um, er, um...as I was saying, formal education in the private sector requires improvement."
