Awolnation

Probably the greatest band to come out during 2010-2011. Their sound can be described as dark electronic pop/rock. Their best (and most popular) song to date is "Sail", which was released in February of 2011 as a single and in March of 2011 on the album Megalithic Symphony. The song consists of a haunting beat and many nonsensical lyrics--among them "Blame it on my ADD, baby"-which is coincidentally everyone's favorite Facebook status update during the past month. Other songs include "Guilty Filthy Soul", "It's Not Your Fault", and "Burn It Down." Awolnation is the solo project of former Under the Influence of Giants and Hometown Hero lead vocalist Aaron Bruno.
Ashley: "Hey, have you heard the song 'Sail' by Awolnation?"
Shelby: "Oh yeah, I love that song! Aaron Bruno's voice is the sex."
Hayley: "Wow I thought that Marilyn Manson sang that song. Silly me."

When I went to the doctor complaining of ear pain, he said that I needed to stop listening to my music so loud...so I got right in his face and yelled "SAIL!"

Awolnation

The greatest up-and-coming band of the now. With songs such as "Sail" and "Not Your Fault" they will soon be on top. Their sound is a sort of mix of techno and mainstream that sounds very cool. They have one released album and one coming out; "Back from Earth" and "Megalithic Symphony"
Mitch: Dude did you hear that new Awolnation song?

Alec: How couldn't I? It was awesome!

More from Urban Dictionary
West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
