take care

(verb phrase)
“take care” / “gave take care” / “got take cared”

A modern slang expression used when someone (usually a boy) politely rejects, ghosts, or ends things with you in a way that feels lowkey respectful - but still hurts. “Take care” is what you say when someone ends communication with a vibe of soft detachment and emotional distance.
“She gave me take care after three dates and a playlist.”

“It wasn’t even a hard ghost. He just said ‘wish you the best’ and dipped. Full take care.”
