Get the EMOmug. -1. To Metal Heads an emo band is a band that isn't brutal enough to be Thrash Metal or Death Metal.
-2. To Punk Rockers emo bands are like punk rock bands that don't spread Anarchy.
-3. To Goths, emo bands are "emo" because things like My Chemical Romance are more angsty than The Cure; Goth
and emo are both alternative rock but aren't the same music or fashion.
-4. Emo is sometimes used as an insult towards anyone with depression.
-5. Emo is a subculture with dark clothes, bright accessories (arm sleeves, necklaces, piercings), dyed hair, eyeliner, skater shoes and music that's too expressive to be accepted by other subcultures and doesn't sound Goth.

Get the Emomug. The true emo, is emotional. Not suicidal. Though everyone says that emos are suicidal, the people that dress like "emos" Are really just suicidal, goth wanna bes.
A boy with slanted cut hair, and covers his scarred wrists is not emo, just suicidal.
"Hey, you emo?" Girl asks.
"Yeah, I'm so emo. I'm so suicidal." Boy replies.

Get the Emomug. Emo's despite being short for emotional, we tend to come off quite blank. BUT with the right people, they can seem quite hyper and happy.
