Sam is a sympathetic man when the need is there however don't expect to much empathy because once a Sam has been hurt there is a massive guard up and it is near impossible to overcome. He will want to spend time with you but not too much. You can talk for hours with a Sam about meaningful conversations, gibberish or just flirting.
