A derogatory slogan used primarily by left-wing activists to mock or belittle right-wing (especially MAGA-aligned) individuals by implying they have repeatedly made poor political choices, and "fell for" those choices due to naïveté or gullibility. Widely considered a political dogwhistle aimed at insulting the intelligence of conservative voters.

Relentlessly nagged someone to the extent they get what they want, but the outcome is worse than they hoped. Shaking a nut tree too vigorously will release good nuts along with nuts that are not ready to harvest. The relationship becomes damaged as the nut tree can also be.
Anna wanted Dave to buy her a new phone. Dave knew that a new model would be coming out soon, but Anna would not wait. She pestered him relentlessly. She “shook him till his nuts fell off”.
