The envy of females by a male who so admires the opposite sex that he wants to be like them.

Venus envy is the opposite of psychologist Sigmund Freud's "penis envy" theory that supposed certain females had feelings of inferiority and therefore wished to have a penis.

Males who have "venus envy" are usually, but not always, transvestites, crossdressers or transsexuals.

As Patrick watched the beautiful gymnast Svetlana perform he said to his friend "I wish I could look and be as talented as her, she's absolutely wonderful". "A pure case of venus envy" his friend thought.

White girl envy 

When women of color ( mostly black women) are jealous that they will never be white women. It is often seen with women of color who thirst after white men and get angry when white men date white women or complain when men thirst after white women.

pc envy 

a state of mind in which a mac owner realizes his computer sucks performance , upgradeability and lack of applications... then is immediately jealous of all his pc - owning friends letting them know HE has design for everything else.

Person 1 : Dude i just bought a mac
Person 2 : well i have a pc at half the price and double the performance , double the available applications you're getting.

Person 1 : Fuck you man , steve jobs told me design was everything these days.

mac envy 

A term describing how self-important pricks justify paying two grand for a computer because it's painted in soft colors and has a nice brand logo on the back of it. They believe trotting the thing out to the local cafe will instill mac envy in everybody whose mommy and daddy didn't buy them one, but ultimately just look like complete assholes.

Andy brought his new Macbook Pro to the local Starbucks so he could watch people go green with mac envy, but couldn't afford anything there because he spent 1,300 bucks on a goddamned computer.

Sandwich Envy 

A mental condition similar to Freud's theory of penis envy; however, sandwich envy is not strictly limited to females. Sandwich envy occurs when one person has access to a delicious sandwich, and his/her friend(s) do(es) not. Symptoms of sandwich envy include hunger, jealousy, and apparent staring at the person with a sandwich. Thirst sometimes accompanies hunger, but this phenomenon is a rarity. Similar conditions exist with other tasty foods.

Person A is eating a sandwich during summer school break, while A's friends are watching. These friends suddenly feel hungry and are jealous of the sandwich-eater. They are encountering sandwich envy.

Pizza Envy

In Freudian psychoanalytic theory, the phenomenon which occurs when you and your friends each select your own favorite toppings while ordering pizza, yet everyone else ends up eating the masterpiece that you created.

Steve was the victim of pizza envy when his friends devoured his barbeque chicken pizza, leaving him to either 1) eat the inferior sardine-and-jalapeno pizza which his friends insisted on ordering or 2) go hungry.

Gender Envy 

When a *transgender* person is envious of how someone looks/presents themselves. Cisgender (not trans) people can’t use this phrase.

Damn, they’re so androgynous, I have gender envy for them.
