PROXY (software)

PROXY is a licensed software product made by PROXY Networks. Besides being utterly stupid to name any software "proxy" (more widely known as being something completely different in IT networking), the product still looks like it's from Windows 95 and handles more or less to that capacity.

It's complete crap

Idiot help desk tech: My IT shop uses PROXY (software) for remote connections to manage our infrastructure.

Network tech: Wait, why are you using a network proxy for something you need to access remotely?

Every other IT professional: PROXY sucks, use something... literally ANYTHING else.

Shit Proxy

An interface, implemented by software or business process, built on a source of unmanaged and incoherent data, and acts as poorly or poorer in its behavior than if the original data source was interacted with directly.

Developer 1: This API works in the most unbelieve illogical manner.
Developer 2: What do you mean?
Developer 1: When I used the original data source it was at least possible to find the exact thing I wanted and now because this shit proxy written by morons is in the way...I can't get it to do anything because they've changed all the search parameters. It's a fucking unique ID just return the fucking data with the Id specified.

munchausen by proxy

Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental illness and a form of child abuse. The caretaker of a child, most often a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick.

The DSM-IV places Factitious Disorder by proxy (i.e., Munchausen's syndrome by proxy) into this category, defining it as “the intentional production or feigning of physical or psychological signs or symptoms in another person who is under the individual's care for the purpose of indirectly assuming the sick role."

Their sole caretaker was diagnosed with Munchausen by Proxy after it was discovered they were poisoning the child to make them seem more ill in order to gain sympathy.
