A term that can mean either a) family-safe contents that no longer requires a rating, as such contents abide to (the guidelines of) one-size-fits-all Hays Code, or b) an unedited version of a film that is often more graphic or explicit than the rated theatrical release, having similar meaning as the "extended version" — both lumped into one same meaning
I rented the unrated version of that movie thinking it would be just a little extra fun, but wow, it was way more intense than the theatrical cut!
