Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Released in 1967 this is The Beatles eighth studio album. It is possibly the most overrated record ever made. Not as good as Magical Mystery Tour released later the same year and not as important (or as good) as Revolver released a year earlier.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is a very good record none the less, maybe even great, but it aint Mozart.

Usually name checked by people who know little about music and even less about The Beatles.

John:"Let's go back to the flat and listen to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."

Paul: "Let's go back to the flat but let's listen to Revolver"

1) When you think something is "the greatest of all time" because you have heard it said by others for so long that you begin to believe it yourself.

2) Conforming with a majority of people's opinion about something being the "greatest of all time" when you might not fully understand why.

A day in the life of someone with this condition...

Person #1: DUDE! Snickers is the greatest candy bar of all time.

Person #2: That's strange. I could have swore the other day you said Kit Kat was the greatest candy bar. What made you change your mind?

Person #1: Well, I read a Rolling Stone article listing the 500 greatest candy bars of all time. They placed Snickers as number one. OMG SNICKERS IS THE BEST BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WAS. NOW I THINK IT'S THE BEST TOO

Person #2: Oh God, you're suffering a bad case of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Sgt. Peter Best's Lonely Hearts Club Band Syndrome

Psychological despair after passing up an opportunity that would have yielded positive effects because it seemed unsafe. The term is named for Pete Best, the original drummer for the Beatles who dropped out of the band because he believed the band wasn't going to make it. The term also creatively uses the name of the Beatles' hit song, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". The term gets it's origins from a play named "Sgt. Peter Best's Lonely Hearts Club Band Syndrome".

When she started seeing someone else, he had a bad case of Sgt. Peter Best's Lonely Hearts Club Band Syndrome because he didn't ask her out first.

lonely hearts day

Lonely hearts day is the day before valentine’s day (february 13th). On this day we all come together to realize valentine’s day is the day after in which we get to watch everyone’s happy valentine’s with their mediocre chocolates and remember no one will be buying us chocolate anytime soon. Not to be confused with broken hearts day which is the day after (february 15th) .
