DLo (noun)
Originally a shortened nickname for NBA player D'Angelo Russell - (D)'Ange(Lo). However, the meaning of the term shifted in the LA area as a hateful term towards the player and his fans.
DLo (replacement noun)
A slang term used as a replacement for "poop" or "defecation."
DLo'd (verb)
To do something poorly or inadequately; to mess something up or perform below expectations.
The popular term originated in Los Angeles, California in 2023 after D'Angelo Russell was traded back to the Los Angeles Lakers. Many fans were incredibly upset due to a controversy from 2016 where after a video surfaced showing D'Angelo Russell (at the time on Los Angeles Lakers) secretly recording a conversation with teammate Nick Young, where Young admitted to being unfaithful to his then-fiancee, Iggy Azalea. The term exemplified many fans disappointment with having Russell back on their team 1. Due to his poor expected performance, and 2. Due to the previous controversy about 'snitching'.
